Here is the weekly review of the top performing Central African players, who play currently abroad.

James Mays
James Mays
#1. This week's number one is an experienced former international power forward James Mays (205-86, college: Clemson, currently plays in China). He was the major contributor in a Golden Stars' victory against the 11th-ranked Bayi Rockets (0-1) 108-95 in the Chinese CBA in Saturday night's game. Mays recorded 23 points, 9 rebounds and 2 blocks in a mere 17 minutes on the court. It was his first game for Golden Stars this season. His team are placed sixth in the CBA. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. Mays is a naturalized American. He played for the Central African senior national team six years ago. Strangely Mays has never played in Central Africa.

Johndre Jefferson
Johndre Jefferson
#2. Second place goes to an international power forward Johndre Jefferson (207-88, agency: Inception Sports, college: S.Carolina, currently plays in France). He could not help Chorale de Roanne (4-3) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Jefferson's very good performance Chorale de Roanne was edged 86-83 on the road by the lower-ranked Levallois (#12). He was the second best scorer with 19 points. Jefferson also added 5 rebounds. But the season just started, so everything may happen. Jefferson has relatively good stats this year: 10.8ppg, 4.3rpg, 2FGP: 57.1%(24-42) and FT: 89.5%. He is a naturalized American. Jefferson is in the roster of the Central African senior national team. Apparently he has never played in Central Africa.

Max Kouguere
Max Kouguere
#3. The Central African player who performed third best last week abroad was an international small forward Max Kouguere (198-87, currently plays in France). Kouguere was not able to help SPO Rouen in their game against Souffelweyersheim (3-1) in the French ProB (second division). He recorded 6 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 23 minutes. SPO Rouen lost 80-86 on the opponent's court to the higher-ranked (#6) Souffelweyersheim. But the season is still in its first stage and everything can happen. It's Kouguere's first year with the team. This season Kouguere averages: 4.5ppg, 3.3rpg, 2FGP: 12.5%, 3FGP: 25.0% in four games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Congolese and Central African. Kouguere is also a member of the Central African senior national team.

Jimmy Djimrabaye
Jimmy Djimrabaye
#4. Power forward Jimmy Djimrabaye (202-92, currently plays in France) contributed to a Quimper UJAP's victory against the league outsider Provence Basket (0-4) 76-64 in the French ProB (second division) in Saturday night's game. He recorded 8 points. Quimper UJAP (3-1) is placed second in the ProB. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. But the season is still in its first stage and everything can happen. Djimrabaye's overall stats this season are: 7.5ppg and 4.5rpg. He is also Central African national team player.

Johan Grebongo
Johan Grebongo
#5. International power forward Johan Grebongo (204-94, currently plays in France) was not able to secure a victory for Mulhouse (2-6) in their last game. Despite Grebongo's good performance the 12th-placed Mulhouse (2-6) was badly defeated 73-54 on the opponent's court by the much higher-ranked (#5) C'Chartres in the Group B. He was the second best scorer with 11 points. Grebongo also added 6 rebounds in 28 minutes. It was Mulhouse's fourth consecutive loss in a row. But the season is still in its first stage and everything can happen. Grebongo is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fourth year in Mulhouse's roster. This season he has relatively solid stats: 14.0ppg, 7.1rpg, 1.1apg and 1.1spg in eight games. Grebongo plays currently for the Central African national team.
